2.Applications

1.Electroplating:

Ammonium chloride is widely used in the electroplating industry, especially in cyanide free electroplating. Ammonium chloride is used to prepare fluxes for tin plating and zinc plating metals, which react with metal oxides to form volatile metal chlorides and clean the surface of workpieces.

2.Battery manufacturing:

Ammonium chloride is used as the electrolyte for dry batteries, especially in carbon zinc batteries. The aqueous solution of ammonium chloride and zinc chloride serves as the main component of the electric paste, extending the battery’s lifespan.

3.Metallurgy:

In metal smelting, ammonium chloride is used for the leaching of non-ferrous metals such as vanadium and nickel, as well as the extraction of platinum group rare and precious metals.
